Orthodontic care
When you have braces, practicing good oral hygiene is even more important. Plaque is quick to build up between bands, wires, and brackets and cause gum disease and cavities if you are not careful. At the same time it’s important to keep giving your teeth the attention they need. If you wear removable braces, remember that these too need brushing with a toothbrush and water.
Using a regular toothbrush when you have braces may not be as effective anymore. And you will quickly find that you often need extra cleaning devices. You can consult your dentist or oral hygienist for advice on suitable products for cleaning your braces and how to use them.
Find the right tools
Practicing good oral hygiene is important if you want to have a healthier smile throughout your life. When wearing braces cleaning your teeth make become even more complicated and time consuming than without because plaque quickly builds up. For this reason it’s important to use the right cleaning tools to help protect you from cavities, gum inflammation, and bad breath.
TePe has brushes to choose from that are specially made with smaller brush heads so that you can have better access in those difficult areas. The narrower the head of the brush is, the easier it will be to clean close to the brackets and under the wire of the braces.
