2San Iron Deficiency Test | Test yourself for Iron Deficiency | Accurate at Home Test kit | Easy to Use | Results in 5 minutes.
The Ferritin Rapid Test Cassette provides a quick and simple way to check ferritin levels using a fingerstick blood sample. Ferritin is an iron-storing protein, and low levels can indicate iron deficiency anemia. This easy-to-use test is designed for self-testing ferritin concentration in blood. It aims to identify iron deficiency, as ferritin below 30 ng/ml often signals depleted iron stores. This test is for diagnostic use only.
How does the Ferritin Rapid Test Cassette work?
The test uses a lateral flow immunoassay to detect ferritin in your blood. If your ferritin level is above 30 ng/ml, a coloured line appears in the test region. If the ferritin concentration is below 30 ng/ml, this line doesn't appear. A coloured line will always appear in the control region, indicating that the test has been performed correctly.
How do I interpret the results of the test?
If two coloured lines appear, this means the ferritin concentration in your blood is normal. If only one coloured line appears (in the control region), the ferritin concentration in your blood is too low, indicating a possible iron deficiency. If no line appears in the control region, the test is invalid and needs to be repeated.
What should I do if the result is abnormal?
If the result is abnormal, indicating a ferritin level below 30 ng/ml, you should consult a physician, as this may indicate an iron deficiency.
Can this test give inaccurate results?
The results are generally accurate if the instructions are followed carefully. However, incorrect procedures, such as insufficient blood volume or the test getting wet before use, can lead to incorrect results. Also, there may be rare cases of false results due to problems with the immune system. Therefore, it is always recommended to consult with a doctor for such tests.
What should I do if the result is normal but I still have symptoms?
If the result is normal, but symptoms persist, you should talk to a doctor.
Can the Ferritin Rapid Test Cassette be used to diagnose other conditions?
Low ferritin levels may indicate other conditions such as hypothyroidism, vitamin C deficiency, or coeliac disease. It is also seen in some patients with restless legs syndrome. However, for a confirmed diagnosis, you should consult with a healthcare professional.
